Why
Join Phi Delta Chi?
Phi Delta Chi offers pharmacy students many
benefits:
Joining Phi Delta Chi allows students to interact with students from
different graduating classes. This unique opportunity can be very helpful while
studying, buying books, finding jobs, and signing up for internships.
Our rush will not occupy too much of your valuable time. We will
have rush events during evenings and meetings during the lunch hour on
weekdays.
As a member of a professional fraternity,
you will have the opportunity to belong to an organization dedicated to the advancement of the science of pharmacy.
The Phi chapter contributes to both the community and university by
participating in the many professional projects annually.
The fraternity provides a variety of leadership positions as committee
chairperson or as an officer.
Phi Delta Chi stresses the
importance of scholastic development. Group study sessions and team work are a few examples of the many
ways Phi Delta Chi's help each other in school. Brothers further in the curriculum
can offer help to those taking classes they have already taken.
Of course there is more to a professional fraternity than rush and
meetings. You will have a tremendous opportunity to make many new lifelong friends,
and to network at local, regional, and national events.
Last and certainly not least, we have a lot of fun. We hang out on
weekends, play in the summer softball league, got to regional meetings as a
fraternity, and do a whole host of other activities.
What
Are Some Activities PDXers Do?

Monthly formal meetings, along with informal meetings as necessary to
disseminate information to the members. These meetings keep members informed with
upcoming events.
Participate in committees: Each member must assist one committee with
their proceedings (ex. professional, fundraising, social). We encourage
personal and professional development for our members. We believe leadership is
developed through actively participating and organizing events/committees.
-
Participate in fundraising events. Examples include: Bake sales,
concession stands at sporting events. The funds are distributed among fraternity events
and donation to local charities and health organizations to support their cause.
-
Have the opportunity to participate in intramural outings (volleyball,
basketball, softball, football, others). We are planning to organize sports teams to
participate in IM. We understand many of our members are athletic and were members
on teams at their respective schools. Therefore, we organize teams to participate
competitively in school events.
-
Have the opportunity to participate in social outings (parties,
gatherings, laser tags, etc) As a major element of the fraternity, the social
functions serve as a way for our members to establish life time fraternal bonds.
