Executive Committee
What we do:
- Oversee all chapter activities
Who's heading up this committee?
Regional Officers:
| President: Denise Emmert |
 |
| Birthday: March 16,
1984 |
| Undergrad: BS in
Biochemistry from the University of Notre
Dame (Go Irish!) |
| Hometown: Ottawa, IL |
| Goals for ASP: We have
been very fortunate to have a great
membership enrollment consistently year
after year; however, I would like to see an
increase in the number of members that are
active in our local chapter. I would also
like to help establish greater organization
and continuity between the committee members
as we change leaders from year to year. |
| Your Motivation for being
Involved: My experience with APhA-ASP
has shown me what a huge impact pharmacists
can have on healthcare in this country. I
hope to help all of Creighton’s ASP members
experience the role that APhA plays on a
national level and the opportunities that we
have to vital advocates in our own practice
experiences. |

| Goals for ASP:
I wanted
to see our committees set goals for the year
and have a smooth transition in May. I also
want to see our chapter be more involved on
a regional/national level including taking
over 100 members to the national meeting in
San Diego. |
| Motivation for being involved:
I’m
involved because I feel it is a great
opportunity to represent my fellow students
while working to advance the future of our
profession. |
Favorite Drug: I don’t
have a favorite drug but my favorite
pharmacophore is
cyclopentanoperhdyrophenathrene
Describe yourself in a haiku:
Well after using Wikipedia to find out what
exactly a haiku is, I’ve decided it is best
for all if I don’t even attempt this. |

large organization will give me the
opportunity to gain further insight into our

all the committees and at all the events.
ASP has so many opportunities! Everyone can
find their own niche in the organization. |
| Your motivation for being
involved: I've always been a
really ambitious, self-driven person. I get

Describe yourself in a haiku/whatever you
want:
My limerick about me…
There once was a lass from the east coast
She loved to live life to the utmost
But she wants a Pharm.D.
So she’s happy to be
Living on peanut butter and toast
Favorite drug: There
is a tie for my favorite drug between rosiglitazone
and clopidogrel. Rosiglitazone because my favorite
color is red and I love anything that sparkles and
rosiglitazone sounds like it should be red and
sparkly- Imagine my disgust when I actually saw a
real pill of it for the first time! Clopidogrel
because it always makes me chuckle- I learned it as
“clop- a- dog- rel” for EPE during P1 year. Note-
I do not endorse abusing animals! |
Birthday: August 30, 1978 |
| Where you went to undergrad:
Pomona College in Sunny Claremont, CA |

Goals for ASP:
- Make sure the rest of the country
realizes all the great things we’re
doing at Creighton.
- Increase fun and make sure we all
know about the opportunities for us to
feel like “real pharmacists” while we’re
in school (AKA Pharm Care, IPSF, and
other projects)
- To serve as a resource and motivator
for new Student Pharmacists coming up
the ranks.
|
Your motivation for being
involved: My past few
years as a member of APhA-ASP have allowed
me to grow in ways that I never expected- I
took on the position as Region V
Member-at-large because I wanted to
facilitate others in having as good an
experience as I have.
